English Learners: Differentiating Language & Content Instruction (Virtual/F2F)

One size does not fit all. Students need instruction that is differentiated according to their needs. Our learners come to us with a range of abilities, skill gaps, language proficiency levels and yet they are all capable of engaging with grade level expectations if given the strategies and differentiated content to do so. Participants will collaborate to customize their instruction for the diverse range of learners they serve. They will consider how to balance scaffolded instruction with the right amount of necessary struggle so that students are in their zones of proximal development for maximizing learning. This session will address the needs of English learners. It will also address implementing evidence-based activities to meet the comprehensive needs of students.
