English Learners: Promoting Rigor with the College and Career Ready Standards for DLLs & ELLs (

The academic language expectations of a school's academic standards can at times bear little resemblance to the social language that most students hear and use on an everyday basis. Participants will explore your school's academic standards to identify the academic language expectations students will use to achieve mastery in the standards and analyze the expectations of rigor to determine the necessary supports for students with varying language proficiency levels. This session will address the needs of English learners. It will also address implementing evidence-based activities to meet the comprehensive needs of students.
