Comprehension is the reason for reading, but it can be the most difficult skill to master--especially for English language learners (ELLs). This series can be customized for depth to focus on reading comprehension strategies that are part of three main approaches: building background knowledge, teaching vocabulary explicitly, and checking comprehension frequently. This session will address the needs of English learners. It will also address implementing evidence-based activities to meet the comprehensive needs of students.
