Suicide Prevention & Wellness Training

An important step in protecting all students from the dangers of suicide is the ability to recognize the warning signs of suicide ideation and take appropriate steps to keep a suicidal student safe. Priorities Teachers and other school staff are well-positioned to observe student behavior and to ACT (Acknowledge, show Care and Concern, and Tell) if there is a suspicion that a student may consider self-harm Anyone who works with students must be able to recognize suicide warning signs and know how to respond quickly Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, but for kids, their problems can seem endless at this stage. If we get them through the crisis, there is a 90 percent chance that they will never attempt suicide.
