Trauma Sensitive Schools - CESA 2

Given the exposure of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), toxic stress, and resulting trauma, CESA 2 staff can provide training to assist schools and staff adopt philosophies and practices to become more trauma sensitive. When adopting a Trauma Sensitive School approach, schools are acting to enhance students’ educational outcomes by reducing barriers related to trauma. The pandemic has created an even greater need of Trauma responsive practices and resiliency building. There have been many stressors and challenges for students and staff; and trauma responsive practices can help to mitigate these vulnerabilities so that students can more fully engage in instruction and prevent further learning loss.
